Just move to another instance, and leave the lag behind.
No, not lemmy.ml or sh.itjust.works or beehaw.org, find a small one, the experience will be better. (Try a themed instance so your local feed us useful)
Are there any negatives to using a different instance. Does it require work and hoe do you do it?
There’s not really any negatives except losing subscriptions and comments. You just need to find a new instance and sign up for it like you did originally
You can interact with any instance from any other instance. Just make an account on a smaller instance.
