Lemmygrad’s resident expert on fascism’ — GrainEater, 2024

The political desperadoes and ignoramuses, who say they would “Rather be Dead than Red”, should be told that no one will stop them from committing suicide, but they have no right to provoke a third world war.’ — Morris Kominsky, 1970

  • Such is the nature of left antisemitism: you must always read between the lines.

For example, a user by the name of Anarcho-Bolshevik once commented ‘Every Jew is like a precious lamb to me. (Except for Netanyahu and anybody who supports him… those people are awful.)

You shall see, gentlemen, that this is, without question, the single most antisemitic comment ever written, for a few simple reasons:

    • Calling Jews ‘precious’, which puts a price on them, so she or he is actually saying that all Jews are commodities. Strike one.
    • Comparing Jews to animals frequently intended for consumption, thereby implying that she or he wants to eat all Jews, as anybody could logically deduce from that. Strike two.
    • Saying that anybody who supports Netanyahu is awful, but supporting the war on Gaza supports Netanyahu, and 99.99% of Jews are Zionists, which means that they support the war on Gaza, so she or he is really saying that all Jews are awful. Strike three.

Now you will understand the reasons which have led countries to persecute and isolate those leftists marked by the stigma of their antisemitism. The domination of such leftists within society is disturbing and dangerous for the destiny of the nation.

  • Thalmann and the communists were going with accelerationism and straight up wanted Hitler to win, so they blocked every coalition they could.

That’s… not how the situation unfolded.

To further understand the position taken by the KPD against the SPD, Ernst Thälmann’s 1932 speech “The SPD and NSDAP are Twins” reveals how the KPD leadership envisioned its struggle against fascism in all forms. Thälmann’s incendiary speech declared that “joint negotiations between the KPD and the SPD… there are none! There will be none!”¹³

This was not to say that the KPD did not recognize the [Fascist] threat, as Thälmann articulated that “KPD strategy directs the main blow against social democracy, without thereby weakening the struggle against […] fascism; [KPD] strategy creates the very preconditions of an effective opposition to […] fascism precisely in its direction of the main blow against social democracy.”¹⁴

It is imperative to recognize, though, that the KPD only advocated the blow against the SPD leadership. As Thälmann argued, The KPD’s policy envisioned, the creation of a “revolutionary United Front policy… [that mobilized the masses from below through] the systematic, patient and comradely persuasion of the Social Democratic, Christian and even National Socialist workers to forsake their traitorous leaders.”¹⁵

The reason that MovingThrowaway said ‘Almost none of us were alive when Khrushchev rolled tanks into Hungary’ is that certain British socialists coined the pejorative ‘tanky’ to nickname communists who approved of the Warsaw Pact intervention in the Hungarian People’s Republic (and later, the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic), but hardly anybody uses the pejorative this way anymore.

In practice, application now varies widely, from approving of the Bolsheviki to opposing the Ukrainian government to suggesting that maybe North Korean politicians think and behave like ordinary human beings. The contemporary criteria are so variable that many would argue that the term is too vague to be useful.

I frequented /v/, /int/, and a few other boards about one dozen years ago. Now the only things that I touch are a few of the archival websites, and even then only rarely. Occasionally I’ll visit an archive to look for images or clips, and more unoften I’ll look up a phrase or word out of curiosity, but that is the extent of it. I haven’t posted anything on the official website in a very long time (and I’ve never posted anything on the archival websites at all).
